We celebrated our union with our families in the presence of Yahweh and His creation. The outdoor wedding ceremony, officiated by Karrie's brother David Pavish, was an intimate one out at Steve Pavish's property in Willow.
The processional song My Karrie of the Curling Hair was sung by Jennifer Bacon, as was the communion song Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing. Both songs were accompanied by David Pavish on the drum. Best Man Darrin Reynolds, Matron of Honor Kim Kopp and Flower Girl Amanda Kopp read selections from Madeleine L'Engle's The Irrational Season and from Ecclesiastes. See our page Ceremony Texts to read the selections.
We read our personal vows to each other from handwritten scrolls which were bound by our rings. We also participated in the ancient Hebrew Salt Covenant, symbolizing our commitment and unity which cannot be separated in this life. As we had honored Karrie's father in our relationship, we also honored our mothers with special letters and with Karrie's wedding bouquet of Dogwood, which symbolize love undiminished by adversity.
